Any Ideas on a cavegirl costume?

Im a size 22 and very self conscious of my arms. I already have furry boots and tiger fabric but want my belly and arms covered, if you have any pics or links please post them?? Im going to be making the costume

Any Ideas on a cavegirl costume?
One trick to a good costume is to cover up the parts you don%26#039;t think are attractive, then reveal as much as you dare of the parts you *do* want to show.

We really don%26#039;t know what a %26quot;cavegirl%26quot; wore, so how about this?

http://www.geocities.com/hansensmtn/toby...

As you can see, this is an easy-to-make, and very adaptable, costume. You can make a basic %26quot;tunic%26quot; from your tiger fabric, and you won%26#039;t need to hem it. Make the sleeves only as long as you need to, make the body-part only as long as you need to, and allow a little extra, so you can cut the edges unevenly, for that raggedy %26quot;I cut this off an animal with a flint knife%26quot; look. The neckline can be as high or low as you wish. If you want, you can belt the fur-tunic with a long strip of leather shoelace, tied around as a string-belt.

The other trick to a good costume is the accessories. You%26#039;ve got a good start with the furry boots. How about a bone through your hair? Lumpy stone-nugget jewelry? And maybe a rubber %26quot;caveman club%26quot;.

Have fun!

How do u tuck your jeans into your uggs?
just wrap your jeans at the bottom around your ankles, and while you%26#039;re putting on your uggs, keep your hand there and then slide the uggs on..

Suede shoes cleaning...any help appreciated.?

I have a pair of brown suede boots which had cooking oil spilled on. Now there are 2 big oil marks on the front of the shoes and I have no idea how to get rid of it. I%26#039;ve tried everything but the 2 splotches are still there and ruining my perfectly nice boots. Can anybody tell me what%26#039;s the best way to get oil out of fabric so my boots can get back to looking the way they should again. I appreciate any advice. Thanks

Suede shoes cleaning...any help appreciated.?
First try to use cornstarch, talc, salt or borax placed dry over the oil to absorb it out of the suede. You may have to change it several times as the powder becomes saturated with the oil it draws out. Then get foaming suede cleaner from the shoe repair shop or in some discounters. Shake the bottle up and use a toothbrush to grab some of that foam up and work it into the remaining stain left by the oil. You may have to do it several times, and then brush the nap up. You will know when all of the oil is removed when there is no longer a shiny spot where the oil was and the nap can be brushed up. Sometimes on light suede you will have a little darker spot remaining which you can obscure by raising the nap to the dark side all around it.
Reply:There is suede cleaner sold in stores.....maybe shoe store is best.....It will take several applications for oil.

If you have not already ruined them I would try Eskie%26#039;s method first then use the suede cleaner.
Reply:Oil on suede boots. forget it.
Reply:They do sell suede cleaners, but I hate to tell you oil is one of the worst stains to get out. I wouldn%26#039;t hold out too much hope.....

Im going as a pirate for Halloween, how should I do my make-up and what kind of shoes should I wear?
I had to dress as a pirate for an even not to long ago, I wore heavy eyeliner (ala Capt Jack Sparrow) and found some fake leather to make covers for my shoes that looked like boots with big cuffs. Put on black pants, a big blousy shirt, add a vest, and ouila, you%26#039;re a pirate!

What do you think about these boots?

what kinds of clothes or occassional are these suitable for?

they look like rainboots but are not, its made of fabric with rubber sole.

What do you think about these boots?
they%26#039;re funky %26amp; cute. i like them because you can wear them with lots of different outfits. i mean, obviously, you%26#039;re not going to wear them to your prom, but they%26#039;re cute to dress up with leggings... maybe wear them with jeans... or even a sundress, those boots, and a cute umbrella for a warm yet rainy day.

maybe a great halloween costume?
Reply:HI there, they are best worn with skinny jeans or your pants tucked inside the boots. They would look best with either jeans (dark jeans I%26#039;d say) and oversized sweaters, or even sweater dresses. Oversized knits and sweaters are whats in right now. Top the look off with a cute skinny belt around waist, you could get one that matches a color off the boots. These are very casual so nothing formal with them. Have you gone into the store because these are actually on sale for a significant amount lower than the original price, and there are other colors as well. They also have flats in the same style. Good luck :)

It seems very high-edge and stylish,

with a very elegant heel, and because it%26#039;s black it will go with almost anyhitng, to make you look great. Also, if you decide to wear gold jewelry while wearing the boots, you will look fabulous and completly color coordenated and possibly even knowledgabe in the high end fassion buisness - the key to having a great outfit.

The first and seccond ones personally remind me of something like snakeskin or the old west, two things that in my persnal opionion i wouldn%26#039;t prefer. However, they do look very durable, with nice heels as well, and they are by a top designer, anne klein, wich prettymuch screams durability and authenticity.

However, the final cut really comes down to what you like best, what looks best, and how it fits/feels, not what other peipole think of you.

If its not comfterable your not going to wear them. If it doesn%26#039;t match anyhting else in your wordrobe, or other accessories you own, it won%26#039;t make you look as %26#039;well strung%26#039;.

personally, I would make a list of all the attributes you would want in a shoe (price, designer, quality, comfort, durability, style, color, etc etc) and give a %26#039;point%26#039; to each shoe that matches the category.

wichever has the most tallies by you should probally be the one you decide on.

Is there a designer that makes wider high cut boots?

I have very athletic calves, and have a hard time finding a tall leather pointed toe boot that doesn%26#039;t cut off the circulation to my foot. I%26#039;ve tried ones with a small section of stretch fabric, and doesn%26#039;t work so much. Not a big gal, just big calves...

Is there a designer that makes wider high cut boots?
I understand, I have big calves too. Unfortunately we are not plus-size, but our calves are considered so! You%26#039;ll find a solution in plus-size boot suppliers. No one has to know it%26#039;s plus size.
Reply:People are over sensitive to stigmatized situations.

Don%26#039;t be afraid to wear a plus size boot.
Reply:I think wearing the plus size boots (if you can find them) is a great idea. Also, if you are willing to go cheap, Payless has been doing some surprisingly good boots lately, most of which will fit bigger calves. If you find a boot made of a synthetic, at least semi-stretchy, material, you can roll the boot top down, stick your foot in, then roll it up your leg. Works every time.

If Ugg boots rip, what can you do?

I just got a pair of uggs a month ago. The last time I wore them was 3 days ago. They were fine. I put them out behind my chair lastnight to wear them today. I had them on in school today, when someone noticed they were ripped right on the side of the boot, but above the seem. Is it possible that my cat got at them? He doesn%26#039;t have his font claws. What can I do to repair them? I can%26#039;t buy another pair. Any suggestions? Can I use some kind of fabric glue on them? Please help!

If Ugg boots rip, what can you do?
Try calling the Ugg Company. Tell them about it and maybe they%26#039;ll send you a new pair.
Reply:Well its cheaper to buy more. and if u add some glue...it will look lik YOU made them xD
Reply:just try to sow it together with the same color of your boots. they or never ever wear them again.. sorry
Reply:So you can%26#039;t afford a new pair...

Why don%26#039;t you either sew a nice pattern on it OR sew a load of sequins on to the damaged bit and do the same on the other boot too... this way they%26#039;ll look like you%26#039;ve customised them! No one will have the same ones as you then!

I always do stuff like this if I damage something I can%26#039;t bare to part with.
Reply:i know this is kinda retarded but you can take them back and run nah just kidding or do uggs have like a warranty or something see this is why you should always leave them in the box
Reply:You should write to the company. They%26#039;re probably defected. Maybe you can get another pair or your money back from them.
Reply:no dont use fabric glue!!! hahaha

sew them but not in a straight line...

u no wat, 2 do that, it would be quite complicated and take a really long time..... soooo take them 2 a tailor or somthing like that. if u aint got the money, a good roll of duct tape solves EVERYTHING!!!! [IM NOT A REDNECK!!!] try tapeing it along the inside of ur boots till u get the money. [or u could always write a complaint 2 the company...]

good luck, hope it helps!

What boots should I buy?
I%26#039;m also sick of women in Uggs and Wellies. I still think if you are going to wear a boot between mid-calf to knee, it needs to be leather.

Paint removal from boots?

Ok, so I asked someone to dye a pair of boots for me, but instead she put latex house paint on them. The boots are the Corcoran Marauder style with leather toe and heel, and either cotton or nylon everywhere else (more or less). The paint is comming off of the leather areas just fine (where it could actually stay, as far as I%26#039;m concerned), but has deeply penetrated (not all the way through) the fabric, making it stiff, gummy, and, critically, ruined its vapor permeativity. My tentative plan is to soak the boots in OOPS for a day or two and then wash them out a few dozen times. My concern is that the OOPS may degrade the fabric or rubber soles, or otherwise destroy the boots. Does anyone know what to expect, or have any better ideas for getting the paint out? I had the boots custom made when I was in Korea, and would like to recover them if possible.

Paint removal from boots?
thats really funny is she daft or what

latex house paint can be degraded with ammonia/windex or denatured alcohol

I would not use anything stronger than that and I would do it by hand no soaking
Reply:WD-40 spray lubricant should work for getting the paint off your boots and this will not harm the leather and it will penetrate and add water repellency it will also soften and protect and remove paint, just spray on and leave for about twenty to thirty minutes then remove with a cloth or old sponge when paint is removed you will see that the paint has darkened the leather as house paint is full of chemicals that hard materials can only withstand, the person that did this to your boots has deffinitely ruined your boots so they will never be the same again Good Luck !

I want to age a pair of boots.?

I have a pair of canvas boots with a wierd crackled fabric on the inside.

They were made with the intention to fold over the top, but I want them to bunch at my ankle, however if I left them unfolded the resemble cardboard. What are some good tecniques I can do to them without completely destroying them?

I want to age a pair of boots.?
You should just wear them a lot, and train them to bunch at the ankle. Try stretching and pulling the fabric or material, and try to make it more loose. It will just take a little time to do it, but it will work.

How can I stop my boots from falling down?

I have a lovely pair of zip-up boots, made from stretchy fabric. Trouble is, they always sag a little. Is there anything I can do to make them stay up? Anything I can fasten to the tops, inside? Thought of Velcro, but that would rip my stockings to shreds!

How can I stop my boots from falling down?
Micropore tape-works on my boots!
Reply:There isn%26#039;t really a lot you can do about it, I had this trouble with a pair that I had. Also my friend has very slim legs and always has this trouble so she always now has to buy boots that you tied behind and this help her. River Island have some very nice ones
Reply:You could consider wearing thick socks or legwarmers underneath them, so they fit tighter. It would all depend on how slender your calves are - you might end up looking a bit too meaty!
Reply:I have this problem too, I choose not to wear them instead, bad answer I know
Reply:Wear some thick socks under them.
Reply:Buy some that fit you... wasn%26#039;t trying to be rude there, honest.. but they sound a size too big for you... although we all know our foot sizes.. some styles fit on us all differently... some styles we have to go up a size or down a size to make that style fit...

How do I get mud off Ugg Boots?

My friend and i went to the park and accidentally stepped in a patch of muddy grass, and now there%26#039;s dried mud on the boots. I brushed off the dried chunks of mud but now there%26#039;s still some on the fabric of the boots, PLEASE help! I just got them a few days ago! Thank you!

How do I get mud off Ugg Boots?
I think the same you should get a small bristle brush not a rough one but soft even a tooth brush and wait for the mud to dry and try to get it off that way , and then when you cant get any more off use a damp cloth and wipe off as much as you can. DO NOT WASH IT ...... I DID THAT and it ruined mine bad it shrank them so know i cant even get my feet in the first part of the boot. GOOD LUCK...O Try oxy clean on the rag that might help A little also . not alot of it just a little , works great.
Reply:just get rid of them. those are the %26quot;ugglyest%26quot; boots in the world. i hate them when girls wear them in shorts or mini dresses.
Reply:the samething hapend to me! and mine where black but all you need to do is get a brush you use for like manicures and stuff and wet it a little

I need your opinion on BOOTS!?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...

I%26#039;m wanting to buy this dress for a holiday party, but I can%26#039;t decide on which type of boot to buy with it. I know I want black knee-highs with a rounded toe, 3 inch or higher heel that%26#039;s not-too-thick, but not-too-thin...

What I can%26#039;t decide on is the material of the boot. Should I go with shiny vinyl type material or a suede or fabric boot? The dress is 100% cotton, so I%26#039;m not sure if a fabric boot would make the dress seem dull, or if the shiny boot would cheapen it. Help????

I need your opinion on BOOTS!?
i agree with the first girl, fabric will look nice in the dress you just showed. i searched for the boots that will go perfect with your dress..
Reply:personally i don%26#039;t think you can go wrong with fabric boots but idk what the dress is like....

What are others wearing, maybe someone else who is going could look at the dress and give their opinion?

How do I clean the white fabric portion of my Timberland Euro Hiker boots?

I bought a pair of Timberland Euro Hiker boots that are black (leather) and white (fabric). The fabric portion is kind of dirty and I would like to know if there is any way to clean it.

How do I clean the white fabric portion of my Timberland Euro Hiker boots?
something I found that works great on my white tennis shoes is a product called Bleche White. You can get it in most automotive stores. be careful with it as I am sure it will whiten or change the color of the black parts if directly applied. I sprayed it onto a towel or rag and then wipe my shoes with it. It works great. If you don%26#039;t want to risk leaving a solution in the material that may or may not run when exposed to rain, snow, etc. then try a Mr. Clean Magic eraser.
Reply:Clorox bleach Pen, works wonders!
Reply:Fantastic All purpose Oxy House Cleaner. It is fantastic on Fabric and upholstery. And inexpensive. Use a soft brush or rag. Then you can use it on windows and coutertops or your sneakers.
Reply:I know a store in NY-Dick%26#039;s sporting goods. They sell all types of cleaners for Timm%26#039;s. I%26#039;d try that before a bleach. Bleach will eventually eat through it. Call stores that sell timm%26#039;s. They have to have products to clean em. You could even do a search for Timberland outlets or Timberland website to see all their products. Then get a Protector for them-Like a water proofer. Usually helps a lot with white. Good Luck.

What is the best way to clean a dirty little spot on my suede ugg boots without ruining the fabric?

i have a black little smudge on my boot and its driving me crazy! i want to clean it with dishwashing soap but i%26#039;m afraid i%26#039;ll ruin the fabric.

What is the best way to clean a dirty little spot on my suede ugg boots without ruining the fabric?
There is Ugg Cleaner that you can buy for like $8, but if you can%26#039;t find some.... dilute baby shampoo is some water and use a damp cloth to clean the stain. Dish soap has bleach or bleach-like components and can ruin your uggs.

The best method though is to just take them to a shoe repair that does %26quot;ugg cleaning%26quot; (not suede, but ugg specific). They come out looking almost new and there is less chance of ruining them. It is usually about $18-$25 and worth every penny.
Reply:I cleaned my boots with dish soap but I didn%26#039;t scrub very hard and it turned out just fine. Dont use too much soap and rub lightly and it sould be fine.
Reply:DO NOT wash it with dishwashing soap it will ruin your boots i ahve a pair of short chestnut uggs and i also bought the cleaning thing that also comes with a protecter, and freshener and a brush so i think you should go buy that instead they sell it at Robert wayne well thats where i got mine hope this helps!

Does anyone sell or make soft fabric boots for kitchen chair legs to stop their loud scraping against floors?

While felt pads are probably a better choice, I have seen decorative floor protectors for chairs:

Does anyone sell or make soft fabric boots for kitchen chair legs to stop their loud scraping against floors?
you should go to home depto and buy these pad things that you stick under the legs. It dosen%26#039;t show and the have fabic ones nonslid plastic ones.
Reply:I haven%26#039;t seen %26quot;boots%26quot; for chairs before. Try your local hardware store, or even your local drugstore for felt tips that get stuck to the bottom of the legs of the chairs, they come in different sizes and colors too, I think. This way you don%26#039;t have the unsightly %26quot;boots%26quot;, but can still protect your floors.
Reply:That%26#039;s silly! Go to WalMart, Home Depot, etc., and get furniture slides- I%26#039;m not sure what tey%26#039;re called - just ask a clerk.

(boots ... that%26#039;s funny!)
Reply:A bit abstract, but a great idea,,,why not craft some yourself?

Pretty easy actually and you wouldn%26#039;t need to sew even. Just use the fabric of choice, cut and hot glue, slip on and slide about.

Reply:We got these cool things at the office supply store, and only bought them because they were on clearance, but you could do it yourself. They are yellow tennis balls, you just slash an X on one side, and slip on the legs (that already might have those rubber thingies on them). Alternatively, buy replacement rubber thingies.
Reply:Any hardware store should a collection of boots or felt products for your use to help with your chair problem.
Reply:boots may ruin the asthetic appearance of the chairs and tables. instead you should cut pieces of felt to size and stick them at the base of each leg. there will be no more loud scrapes and you%26#039;ll stop any scratching too.
Reply:WalMart has felt %26#039;sliders%26#039; for the chairs and tables, which should do what you are looking for.
